EMSC Statewide Conference

In collaboration with Children's Nebraska, iEXCEL hosted the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services EMSC Conference. Expert clinicians connected across the state to provide hands-on pediatric emergency training activities that included lifesaving scenarios to improve the outcomes of care for children experiencing severe illness or trauma. This event supported EMSC’s mission to strengthen pediatric emergency response statewide.

Post-Stroke Care Practice

College of Allied Health Professions Physical Therapy students led by Dr. Stacie Christensen practiced caring for patients recovering from acute strokes. Working in small groups, learners performed physical therapy assessments, assisted with exercises and transfers, and practiced key interventions. The human simulation (standardized patients) assisted with creating realistic scenarios as they helped prepare students for real-world patient care.

Residents Sharpen Skills in Advanced Surgical Training

UNMC Neurosurgery residents participated in experiential learning in the Davis Global Center led by Dr. William Thorell. Residents practiced head and spine procedures using surgical instruments, and fluoroscopy, as well as spine drills. This session offered valuable experience with complex techniques and surgical skill refinement.
