Explore New Research Opportunities
The Davis Global Center offers a unique venue for new and stimulating research! With the vision to Improve Human Performance in Health Care the door is open for human factors and outcomes research. Please contact iEXCEL staff if you are interested in exploring research opportunities, especially related to the impact of simulation and visualization on the outcomes of education and/or patient care!
Student-Led Interprofessional Collaboration
UNMC Graduate Student Association brought students from multiple disciplines together by hosting an interactive, hands-on simulation designed to enhance clinical and decision-making skills. Students engaged in realistic patient interactions, collaborated over case studies and developed comprehensive treatment plans. This interprofessional approach reinforced the importance of teamwork in patient care and gave students practical experience in problem-solving across disciplines.
Dermatology Residents Explore Facial Anatomy
UNMC Dermatology residents led by Dr. Ronald Sulewski participated in a hands-on session that focused on skills training in facial anatomy and dermatology procedures. This hybrid simulation session utilized the interactive digital walls with the simulated operating room with the goal of providing deeper understanding of anatomical structures.
Nursing Team Simulates Acute Care Emergencies
The Nebraska Medicine nursing team led by Karen Townsley participated in a simulation focused on adult acute care. Learners responded to a variety of life-threatening emergencies, including central line blood stream infections. This hands-on training enhanced their ability to assess, stabilize and provide critical interventions under pressure.
