Off-Site Trauma Simulation
EM cutsuit lecture-09

The iEXCEL team ventured off-site to lead a live trauma simulation during Dr. Jason Langenfeld's UNMC College of Medicine students. Integrating simulation with knowledge transfer by lecture can be a valuable experience, that in this case, allowed students to observe the intricacies of emergency response procedures firsthand.

Chest Tube Visualization Learning
NMNursing-08

Nebraska Medicine nurses led by Karen Townsley and Caitlin Hagen adopted the iWalls to understand and learn to manipulate chest tubes. Session organizers worked with the iEXCEL visualization team to create interactive 3D models and a lesson plan that enabled identification of the parts of the equipment, as well as overcome any challenges involved with the various models of chest tube devices.

Complex Surgical Airway Practice
airways course-02

Residents from the Department of Otolaryngology led by Dr. Jayme Dowdall and Dr. Christopher Bingcang honed their skills in the Davis Global Center simulated OR. They practiced complex operations, such as cricothyrotomies, percutaneous tracheostomies and emergency bronchoscopies, while incorporating advanced techniques such as laser and coblation procedures.

Additional Highlights
