April 2024
Volume 10 Issue 4
We love our work with UNMC students and faculty who continue to push boundaries using the amazing technologies in the Davis Global Center! Please plan to join us as we help you shape the future of health professions education at UNMC!
VR Brings Learning to Life!
First-year College of Medicine students in Dr. Robert Norgren's neuroscience educational block embraced cutting-edge technology at iEXCEL to actually step inside a 3D MRI scan to explore the brain in virtual reality!
The Importance of Interpretation
Led by Dr. Amy Cutright, residents from the Department of Emergency Medicine experienced the patients' perspective through navigating an appointment with a health care provider who did not speak their language. This exercise highlighted communication challenges in order to help health care professionals empathize with future patients.
Residency Prep Course: Surgical Escape Room
Fourth-year College of Medicine students prepared for residency by putting their skills to the test with an escape room game! Created by the iEXCEL team in partnership with Dr. Jessica Veatch, students raced to the finish line solving challenges and demonstrating proper surgical techniques.
