iEXCEL 5th Annual Innovation Awards
The annual iEXCEL Innovation Awards recognize faculty and health care professionals who implement innovative ideas for teaching, research and scholarship working with the iEXCEL staff and the unique capabilities of the Davis Global Center.
Our sincere congratulations to the 2024 iEXCEL Innovation Award Winners: Lizz Reese, Sara Fisher, Dr. Sarah McBrien, Brittany Bowman, Dr. Laura Cudzilo-Kelsey, Jane Broekemeier, Dr. Andrew Maresch, Scott Sanderson, Amber Lickert, Nicole Insinger, Karen Townsley, Nichole Cooks, Becka Neumiller, Dr. Amy Goldman, Dr. Becky Kinnison, Chastity Orr, Dr. Christie Barnes and Dr. Daniel Surdell.
The Department of Emergency Medicine, led by Dr. Elizabeth Reiche, partnered with the La Vista Police and Papillion Fire Departments to practice emergency preparedness. These teams worked with Standardized Patients (Human Patient Simulation) and high-fidelity manikins to simulate rescuing multiple injured patients from a home setting. This collaboration enhanced real-world response, strengthened interdisciplinary coordination and improved lifesaving skills.
Orthopaedic Residents Sharpen OR Skills
Orthopaedic Surgery residents immersed in a month-long, hands-on training course at the Davis Global Center. This advanced course bridges the gap between knowledge and practice, allowing residents to perform procedures ranging from fundamental orthopaedic surgery techniques to complex surgeries in the Davis Global Center high-fidelity surgical environments.
