Explore New Research Opportunities
The Davis Global Center offers a unique venue for new and stimulating research! With the vision to Improve Human Performance in Health Care the door is open for human factors and outcomes research. Please contact any of our iEXCEL staff if you are interested in exploring research opportunities, especially related to the impact of simulation and visualization on the outcomes of education and/or patient care!
Kearney Faculty iWall Training
Led by Paul Dye and Ben Stobbe, faculty from the UNMC Kearney Campus engaged in a session exploring the innovative touch technology of the iWall. Designed to enhance both in-person and distance learning, this training sparked excitement as educators discovered new ways to connect with students and prepare them for their future roles in health care.
Hands-On C-Section Practice at iEXCEL
UNMCOBGYN residents led by Dr. Laura Cudzilo-Kelsey took part in an experiential C-section training using iEXCEL’s high-fidelity mannikin. This immersive scenario was designed to mimic a real operating room environment, complete with surgical tools, draping, and interactions with the mannikin patient. Using iEXCEL's advanced simulation technologies, learners sharpened their surgical skills while strengthening communication and teamwork.
Resident Escape Rooms
Internal Medicine residents led by Dr. Kaitlyn Brittan recently took part in a medical themed escape room designed to enhance clinical reasoning and teamwork skills. In a fun race against the clock, participants solved puzzles and uncovered clues centered around real-world patient care scenarios. This escape room approach to learning facilitates collaboration and critical thinking in an engaging format that brings excitement to the learning experience.
